a TASTE OF TULSAMatt Burtelow Award
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma established the Matt Burtelow Memorial Award in June 2000. Its purpose is to honor an individual whose contributions of time, energy, and/or resources have promoted the idea of adult-child mentoring in a significant way. The award is named for Matt Burtelow who served as an exemplary volunteer from 1994 until his untimely death in January 1999. Matt was a great guy with a zest for life. His enthusiasm has had a lasting impact on his family, friends, Little Brother, and the entire Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
